    the problem i have with this is, should i stop in the middle of a set if i reach the 40th rep? that could mean lifting only twice in the last set (for example)??

    Vince, If you are having probs with building calves try a seated calf raise or put just your toes on the leg press and work full range of motion. Takes your body momemtum out of the equation and isolates. Don’t forget to max out with your calves and change your foot positions in and out.
